We bought our first home in 1999 in Chapel Hill while I was overseas on business. This was a particularly stressful time for us but through Keith’s support and patience, all of the paperwork was explained and completed with a minimum of fuss. While Claire is not a financial person, Keith took the time to explain all of the details of the mortgage and how it would operate, giving Claire all the information she needed to feel that we had made the right decision. As happens from time to time, the bank that we got the mortgage through lost our application and a number of important documents (the ones that require a JP’s signature). Again through Keith’s support and patience, we were able to re-apply and everything went through in time for a smooth settlement. We have recently (2006) sold our home in Chapel Hill and bought another in Mudgeeraba, again with the professional assistance provided by Keith. His tireless efforts working with an increasingly bureaucratic banking industry and their repeated efforts to lose secure forms, has again resulted in a smooth settlement on the purchase of our second property. We have previously recommended Keith’s services to friends and relatives, and will continue to do so. Keith has been proactive, supportive and good humored about the situations that have come our way, and even though the mistakes that have been made have been outside of Keith’s control, he has always been able to bring things back to how they should be. After many years of moving from country to country and continent to continent, we eventually achieved our goal to settle down in beautiful Brisbane, Queensland. Although we had many things to learn about life in Australia the one thing we knew for certain, was the quicker we got settled, the quicker life begins to take shape. Being pretty focused people; my wife and l knew exactly what we were looking for when it came to house criteria. We had even pinpointed the suburb where we wanted to live before we had arrived. Within 5 days of touching down, we had put in an offer for a house. We have learned from our travels that the best thing to do is listen to the locals, sieving out the nonsense and retaining the morsels of information that we think were worthwhile. Whilst complaining to our estate agent about the usual complex procedure that banks impose with regards to lending mortgages etc, we were given Keith’s name an alternative method of securing a good deal. Having never used a mortgage broker before, we were wary. The sieve methodology worked as Keith proved to be a champion. Like a good headache tablet he just took the pain away. He did the hard yards for us and always presented himself professionally backed up with good business ethics, but at the same time and more importantly to us, keeping it all simple. As l had mentioned we were in a hurry, we pushed all parties along at great haste and eventually got into out house 3 weeks from offer and just 1 month after we had arrived. I can say that Keith had a huge input into making this happen. Somebody once said that you can determine someone’s character within the first 5 minutes of meeting them, it didn’t take the 5 minutes before we knew that Keith was our man, we felt very comfortable and assured then onwards. With regards to that great non-science of hindsight, we probably didn’t appreciate what Keith did for us but it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. I will not dwell on it but we had an ‘ugly’ little incident with our bank; a simple misunderstanding but the usual corporate banking mentally meant that the issue seemed ridiculously unfair and it really began to get to my wife and l. It had been some months since l had communicated with Keith but as we didn’t have a great choice of allies we turned to Keith for his words of wisdom. Within days of pouring out our concerns, Keith was onto it and the problem just faded away. Would l recommend Keith; no l would like to keep his services to myself, seriously l would have absolutely no hesitation in using his services again or recommending him to my friends and colleagues.
